ARSHAVIN BACK TO TRAININGS

Russian striker Andrey Arshavin returns to practice in time to face Wales, Sport Express correspondent John Davies reports.

Staring down barrel of Wednesday's must-win battle over Wales, Russia's efforts were bolstered with the welcomed return of captain Andrey Arshavin to practice.

The twenty-eight year-old attacker has been hampered with a nagging groin injury whilst playing for Arsenal and missed a return to his former home grounds, Petrovsky Stadium, in Russia's match against Liechtenstein on Saturday. Taking part in Russia's practice he appeared fully fit and without discomfort. Though a late fitness test is in the offing, it appears that Guus Hiddink will have his key sharpshooter available for the match and with so much on the line he is unlikely to keep him out of the starting eleven.
